Such devout loyalty to a cryptic and dying culture -- fascinating! Look at the faces of your youth, Keith -- you'll see Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock, not Willy Seaweed. It's only going to take another generation and a few more sessions of Congress, old boy... like Paul said, your arcane culture always seems to equate 'advance' with some act of ritual or ceremonial killing.
It's not surprising they easily succumbed to the the likes of Vancouver and Quadra...
All along through this people like you and Watson read and try and grasp an understanding through words of people who did not understand what they were speaking of themselves. It is not really your "fault" that such an imperfect knowledge of someone elses culture is not able to be attained via someone from another culture writing of it--and yet it is a mistake you yourself continue to make.
You would learn so much more of my spiritual way of life if you would approach in a sacred and respectful way and seek understanding rather than reading of someone's "study" then approaching in the way you have. The loss of humanity and the damage to the soul caused by such an imperfect way for understanding is tragic, and yet avoidable. But it takes a heart that cares for all life to be able to step past the hate and sickness Kundu.
It is obvious to me you value whales more than you value my family and relations. Laugh at me if you will---but I will die before I surrender to any of you. And with the lessons you have taught the young ones they too now have wide open eyes as to the world "out here" as you called it. The hardest part is in teaching them not to hate back. But that is a lesson they need to know I guess---but the sparkle in their eyes, the laughter in their voices, and the determination of the People will prevail.
Vancouver, Quadra, Cortez, Custer, Sheridan, Chivington---none of them were able to stop the People. Kundu, Watson, Metcalf, Gorton---none of you will either.
